No, our goal is to work with you to determine those items you want to keep and not keep, group similar items together, and find logical places to store items so you can find them. We will handle all your items with the utmost care and respect. Any items you decide not to keep are to be reviewed by you before they are removed.
Do you handle people with hoarding behavior?
No, a trained specialist with experience on hoarding situations should be consulted. Please check NAPO.net to find someone to help.
Do you offer a package price?
Yes, we can discuss a package deal for more involved jobs. Please use the Contact Form or call us to discuss your project.
What is your policy regarding health and safety?
Please see our Safety page. In summary, we are following HIPPA regulations and respecting your privacy.
How long will this take?
It depends. A closet could take 3 hours or 6, depending on what we find in there, the size of the space, and how quickly you can make decisions about what we find in there. Some projects will even require multiple sessions. But rest assured, we will make good use of our time.
What will we do about my sentimental items?
Rest assured that your personal sentimental items will not be discarded without your consent. We work together to figure out what you want to keep, especially when it comes to those items that mean a lot to you.
What happens to items the professional organizer takes to donate?
At the end of our in-person session, you have the opportunity to review all items you decided to donate. Those items are taken by the professional organizer to a charity or donation center such as the Salvation Army.
Will the organizer work alone, doing the work for me, or can I be involved in the process?
This is up to you! You can be as involved in the process as you want, but I will need some direction from you to begin, and we will need to discuss the progress made at the end of our session. We'll talk about this at the initial consultation so there are no surprises.
Do I need to purchase a bunch of expensive products in order to fulfill my organizing goal?
I prefer to reuse what you already have on hand at the beginning until we know how much space you will need and what type of containers would work best for it. I'd hate for you to purchase a bunch of containers before we purge half of your stuff; in the end, you might not have needed as many containers if you had bought them before we sorted everything. Check out some of the tips from this Real Simple article I was quoted in about no-cost organizing products.
